This work includes a hollow hemispherical mycelium structure that grows through and around disposable masks, which form the brim, creating a bizarre opening that blurs the boundary between positive and negative space.
The mycelium part is supported by a reed-like aluminum frame secured with hair and metal adhesive, offering a sense of spatial instability accompanied with the distinctive scent of living mycelium.
This ethereal sculpture manifests an elegy for life persisting amid capitalist postmodernity and environmental crisis.
Material:mycelium, mask, aluminum rods, wire, hair, wig
Size:20in*16in*16in
